It’s Winter again and time to draw trees. Last Winter was my first crack at it and I did the birch at Swasey Parkway. This year, even closer to home, I got a nice image of the sugar maple near my house. I find drawing the whole tree very intimidating but this little section with knot hole and the little crown of fall leaves caught my attention. The tree itself is done with Derwent tinted graphite just like the birch. I switched to Prismacolors for the leaves. Enjoy!
